A BRASS band member is celebrating 40 years with Woodfalls Band.
Brian Easterbrook joined the band, the current Senior Cup champions, on January 3, 1974 and has since served as a player, committee member, treasurer and, more latterly, as secretary.
Apart from recent highlights of seeing the band win the Senior Cup and claim their highest ever finish at the National Finals when they came sixth at the Albert Hall last October, he was also part of the band that won the Grand Shield in 1974 and 1985, the Senior Cup again in 2010, the Yeovil Entertainment title in 2011 and a trio of West of England Area triumphs.
He also played a major role in securing a long term sponsorship partnership with South West Trains, which he estimated has brought more than £400,000 to the band coffers over 20 years, as well as organising a series of Poppy Appeal concerts.
