FORDINGBRIDGE Rugby Club has launched plans for the climax of their 30th anniversary celebrations – a “Posh Picnic in the Park” on Saturday, June 21.
A grand marquee will be erected at the recreation ground to cater for around 300 guests with live music from The Deloreons.
Each table will have access to a hamper packed with fresh food and local goodies, a bar will be licensed until midnight and magicians will be circulating to provide additional entertainment.
President John Mouland said: “We are planning what we hope will be a memorable and fun-filled occasion and, mindful of how pockets have been hit recently by the recession, we have decided to keep prices at the same level as five years ago with a special reduction for students.”
“Perhaps history will also repeat itself on the field with our 1st XV winning the Hampshire League and gaining promotion to the London Leagues as they did in the 2008/9 season but, whatever happens, we will celebrate the club’s 30-year anniversary in style”.
