AN adventurous pupil from Ringwood School is raising money to fund a trip to Borneo next year to help people and wildlife.
Year 11 student Sophie Cundell will work at an orphanage and schools, work with orang-utans and spend time in the jungle during the life-changing trip in July 2015.
Sophie held a vintage tea party on Saturday and raised £300 towards the £4,000 needed to secure her place.
Sophie said: “I had an amazing time at the tea party. About 40 people attended and I was really pleased with what we raised.
“I am determined to raise the full amount as I am determined to get to Borneo and help change people’s lives. The children in Borneo have so very little compared with what we have and I just want to make a difference.
“The children are very poor and have a very bad start in life and I want to do something to help create a brighter future.”
