A POLO fundraiser is being held to raise cash for a charity that provides mobile chemotherapy units, one of which serves the Fordingbridge area, and which has local man Murray Walker as its patron.

The Hope for Tomorrow’s eighth Charity Polo Day will be held at the Beaufort Polo Club on June 28.

Over the years, the event has raised a staggering £257,000 and often attracts people from all over the UK.

For VIP Badge holders, the day kicks off with a champagne reception and a polo demonstration, followed by a three-course lunch with wines. The charity will host a silent and a live auction before heading out to watch two exciting games of polo.

During the afternoon, guests can relax in the marquee with a sumptuous afternoon tea.

There are also day badges available, which will give you access to the ground and parking. Day badge holders are welcome to bring their own picnic and watch the match from a reserved pitch.

Christine Mills, Founder of Hope for Tomorrow, said: “This is such a wonderful event for us as it not only raises vital funds, but it brings supporters of the charity together and raises great awareness of what we do.”

  • Hope for Tomorrow is a cancer charity dedicated to bringing cancer treatment closer to home.

Their mobile chemotherapy units bring vital treatments to patients, reducing travel, waiting times and the stresses and strains of busy hospitals.

The charity builds, owns and maintains the units and provides them to the NHS to operate with their highly trained staff. The units have the capacity to treat between 18 and 20 patients a day.
