A BLOCK of retirement flats being built in Ringwood, that caused a flurry of opposition at the planning stage, has a new name.
McCarthy & Stone has named the development on Parsonage Barn Lane Cornmantle Court, after the cottage that used to stand on the land.
Construction is underway on 33 one and two-bedroom apartments for over 60s near Ringwood School.
Jacqui Meenan, sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, said: “We pride ourselves on building communities and not just homes, so we always aim to select names for our new developments that will have real meaning to the local residents.”
Apartments at the development will be available to buy off-plan this summer, with first occupations taking place in early 2015.
