A FAMILY fun day is promising to make the May Day bank holiday a real blast for all ages.

Bransgore Rotary Club is organising the day on Monday, May 5 from 1pm.

There will be a heart-stopping motorcycle trial bike display, falconry and gun dog display, with a Zumba dance display rounding off the afternoon when everyone can join in.

There will be Morris dancing, Punch & Judy shows, a dog show, the chance to see birds of prey up close, balloon structures and lots more to suit all ages supported by local band, Dysfunction.

There will also be a large number of local stalls run by village organisations and charities including plate smashing, bric-a-brac and Pick the Wine.

A first for the fun day this year will be the Great Bransgore Pie Baking Contest, run with the help of Sopley WI.

The winning pie will be awarded the accolade the ‘Bransgore Pie’ and be made and sold in the village bakery.

Teas will be provided in the village hall and on the village green there will be a barbeque, an ice cream stall and a licensed beer tent.

As in the past there will be managed parking on site with disabled spaces provided nearer the action.

The Bransgore Rotary Fun Day is run to support local and international charities and all profits made go to charity.

If you run a local group that needs a small amount of financial assistance, the club may be able to help.

The named charity benefiting from this year’s fun day is The Amelia-Grace Rainbow Fund, which was set up in memory of a little Bournemouth girl who fought an aggressive brain tumour, but died in 2010. The fund pays for treats for terminally ill children.

Fun Day raffle tickets are on sale in the village centre on Saturday mornings in the run-up to the event.
