THE team behind a successful new arts festival in Ringwood say they are incredibly excited about the number of acts signed up for this year’s event.

Fanfare for Spring, Ringwood’s international festival of street performance art on May 17, has so far attracted talent from musicians and actors to dancers.

Organiser Roger Bettle said: “It’s not only the number of enquiries and bookings we are receiving, but also the variety of performers, from circus acts, strolling players, bands and groups playing a wide variety of music.”

New to Fanfare this year is Spank the Planks Appalachian dancers. Street Theatre will be represented with performances from Mummers Players from Milford on Sea and local dance groups. Ringwood Musical & Dramatic Society will be singing music from their latest show the Hot Mikado.

Stagecoach Ringwood’s junior performers will be taking part, and buskers will be found around the town. The Rotary Club of Ringwood and the Ringwood Ex Tablers Club is hosting the entertainment.
