GREEN-fingered children at Ringwood Infant School entered a competition to grow the tallest runner beans in a bid to nurture them to Jack and the Beanstalk proportions.

Judges from Haskins Garden Centre near Wimborne came to the school on Tuesday and chose three winners from Year 1.

Tyler from Foxes class, Tom from the Badgers class and Rebecca from the Sika Deer class came first.

A school spokesman said: "It was a very successful and enjoyable competition.

“The children really enjoyed it and we had a very good turnout."
