DORSET County Council is gearing up to keep roadside verges in top condition after a mild and wet spring caused rapid growth.
The council’s Cabinet has agreed to provide an extra £50,000 to increase the number of times the grass is cut.
Usually, in towns, verges are cut six times a year between March and November and in rural areas they are cut twice, between April and October.
However, the wet and mild summers have encouraged more plant growth.
