MOYLES Court School in Ringwood is celebrating two achievements and unveiling a new exam system to stop Michael Gove “experimenting” with their pupils’ education.

The school has been named as one of just three schools nationally nominated for this year’s ISA Excellence Award for Art. The overall winner will be announced later this month.

And Year 11 student Chris Law has won a scholarship to study A levels at Gordonstoun in Scotland, which both the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles attended.

The school is also announcing a new exam structure this year – International GCSEs.

Headteacher Greg Meakin said: “We do not want our pupils subject to Mr Gove’s national experimentation with examinations for 14-16-year-olds. The stability of IGCSEs, our move to ability setting, particularly at GCSE level, and our small classes provide ideal conditions for individual attention, enabling children to fulfil their potential.”

The school is holding an open morning on May 29 and children can have free taster days on May 27, 28 or 29.
