A DOG that went missing from Tolpuddle last Thursday was spotted near Sopley on Sunday and may still be in the area.

Cocker spaniel Edward has sparked a huge hunt, with people putting posters up a far away as Hurn, 23 miles from his home, where he is thought to have been at the weekend.

Scores of people have joined in the search, after his worried owner Emma Lewis put his photo and an appeal on Facebook.

But as the Journal went to press there had been no more confirmed sightings of the two-year-old dog.

Ms Lewis is offering a £400 reward for his safe return, and has been out for hours every day searching, putting up posters and asking walkers if they have seen him.

He is microchipped.
