AN exhibition is to be staged in West Moors, depicting the village during the First World War.

West Moors Parish Council and local schools are joining forces on the project, which will be in the library from tomorrow until the end of August.

The three schools in West Moors have each done their own interpretation and theme, while the parish council has produced a population and geographical profile of the village.

More than 1,700 hours of research has been carried out, including looking at National Census data from 1841 to 1911 and parish records.

Stories behind the names on the war memorial have been documented, and the stories of survivors told.

The library is open Mondays 2pm-5pm, Tuesdays 2pm-6.30pm, Thursdays 9.30am-1pm and 2pm-5pm, Fridays 9.30am-1pm and Saturdays 10am-12.30pm.
