A SERVICE was held on Sunday at the New Forest Airfields Memorial at Holmsley South, conducted by Revd Canon Ray Hubble.
Guests included the chairman of New Forest District Council Maureen Holding, the mayor of Christchurch Denise Jones, MPs Julian Lewis, Desmond Swayne and Christopher Chope and the outgoing chairman of the New Forest National Park Authority Julian Johnson.
Military representation included Group Captain Nicholas of the Royal Australian Air Force, Colonel Marc Bigaouette from the Canadian High Commission, Lieutenant Colonel Rene Klapac from the Embassy of the Czech Republic and representatives of the Republic of Slovakia and the Royal Air Force.
The Christchurch and Poole branches of the Royal Air Force Association, Highcliffe Royal British Legion and Christchurch Royal Naval Association paraded.
171 and 2515 Squadrons of the Air Training Corps Were also present.
