A FATHER of two from Fordingbridge killed himself after he failed to get back together with his ex-fiancée, an inquest heard.

Southampton Coroners Court heard Paul Neve was found by colleagues after he had failed to turn up to work.

The 49-year-old had persistently tried to get back together with his ex-fiancée after they had broken up on New Year's Eve.

Despite sending 500 emails over the course of the six months she refused to rekindle their relationship.

Senior coroner for Southampton and the New Forest Grahame Short said: “It is clear from what he did and said that he couldn't accept that decision.

“I think it's fair to say that he had become obsessed with her and tried to persuade her change her mind in regard to their marriage.”

He was found at his home in Saddlers Close on April 28.

Mr Short delivered a verdict of suicide.
