SCOUTS in Ringwood celebrated the opening of their new HQ extension with a cream tea for family and friends.
Councillor Christine Ford opened the new building on Eastfield Lane, home to the 3rd Ringwood Scouts, which boasts a new entrance, meeting rooms, toilets and kitchen.
The ceremony at 2.30pm was followed by a cream tea for friends and helpers.
The £170,000 project follows on from a £25,000 modernisation of the original premises.
Funding for the work came from New Forest District Council, who awarded £55,000, The Veolia Environmental Trust, who awarded £29,175 through the Landfill Communities Fund, and the Scouts themselves, from their own reserves and their fundraising total from activities such as car boot sales, sponsored events, quiz nights, and social events.
