INTERNATIONAL Older People’s Day was celebrated in Dorset with the launch of a new website called My Life My Care.

The website aims to help people lead independent lives and features a wide range of information, from how to access help around the home and personal care services, to dealing with money worries, keeping mobile and staying safe.

There are also tips and advice on health and wellbeing, information about transport, home adaptations, daily living aids and much more to help people make informed choices about their care. The website is for all adults in Dorset, whether they qualify for financial support or pay for their own care.

Cabinet member for adult social care, Jill Haynes, said: “Sometimes a little help goes a long way, and the new directory draws together information about staying healthy and safe, highlighting services and organisations to help people stay independent in their own homes.

“We also want to celebrate the achievements and contributions that older people make to our society, and encourage people to come to the launch event and find out more about the new website.”
