A YOUNG horse looks set to put a Parley equestrian centre on the map after qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show at the first attempt.
The Welsh Cob called Joseph has been trained by Jane Wyatt, a two-time winner of the show, which this year is being held at the Birmingham NEC from October 8.
Jane, who runs Parley Equestrian Centre, only broke in the horse in February.
The equine expert has been to the show seven times with five horses and is gaining the centre in Parley a national reputation.
Jane first rode the 15 hands high, six-year-old bay at a show in Rugby in July.
Jane said: “He’s done remarkably well.
“He came third in the Picton Novice competition in Malvern then immediately qualified for the Horse of the Year Show.
“I’m very much looking forward to it and I’m hoping that he behaves and goes well, considering that he is still a novice.”
Parley Equestrian Centre was launched in 2009 and has built up an excellent reputation among dressage riders and show jumpers.
The centre is regularly used for both British show jumping and unaffiliated show jumping competitions.
Planning permission has been granted for a second outdoor school, which will act as a warm-up arena to be used ahead of competitions.
Construction of the new school is due to start this autumn.
