Potential fire service merger
DORSET and Wiltshire Fire Authorities have taken a step closer to a potential merger.
A full consultation process is well under way and is due to end on October 20. The next meeting in the process is due on November 4, when responses to the consultation will be considered. To date there have been online questionnaires, focus groups, briefings for councillors and leaflet drops.
Any move to bring to two authorities together would have to also go through parliamentary scrutiny.
