A BUMPER £4,000 has been raised by Poppy Appeal collectors in Ringwood.
The Royal British Legion sold poppies during October and November in the Furlong Shopping Centre with collections at stalls, buckets and military vehicles.
Sid Slatter, an ex-Royal Navy serviceman aged 91, helped raise more than £1,000 on his own.
Charlie Reed, from The Furlong Shopping Centre, said: “We’d like to give huge thanks to all the generosity of our customers and a special thanks goes out to Waitrose for allowing Sid to collect donations in store.”
