DORSET Police are investigating the sudden death of a teenage girl found with burn injuries in a village near Verwood.

The 15-year-old's body was discovered outside in Edmondsham at 9.18pm on Monday this week, according to a force spokesman.

The spokesman said: "Her death is being treated as unexplained and officers are investigating the circumstances.

"Next of kin and the coroner have been informed.

"All relevant multi-agency partners are involved in investigating the circumstances of this tragic death."

A spokesperson from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Cranborne did attend this incident. "However, there is nothing more than we can say at this time."

The ambulance service also attended, with a spokesman telling the Journal's sister paper the Daily Echo: "We were called to Edmondsham at 9.20pm to a female who had burns.

"We did not convey anyone to hospital."
