AN experienced owner is needed to care for Henry, a tan and white six-year-old boxer dog who has been living at the Ashley Heath Animal Centre since October.

Henry is a very affectionate, friendly dog who is used to company for most of the day.

He is calm in the house and will often sleep sucking his tennis ball.

Henry could live with children aged ten and older and can live with a cat if he is introduced slowly.

Ideally, Henry will move to a house in a rural or country setting where he can be exercised without encountering too many dogs.

Henry is taken off site at weekends where he enjoys forest walks; he is good off lead. He has been introduced to coffee shops but can be nervous of the hustle and bustle but taken slowly this is something he will enjoy.

Henry will need to be introduced to other dogs but must not be pushed to meet them.

His last owner reported he wasn’t keen on large, dark-coated dogs.

A member of staff said: “We have found if Henry gets stressed or anxious that by giving him a tennis ball has a calming effect on him.”
