A BRANSGORE paramedic who was seriously injured in a collision embarked on a six-day challenge on Saturday to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Richard Riley, 33, joins 36 fundraisers to make the journey to the summit to raise vital funds for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).
The team have spent the past year fundraising and preparing for the climb and have so far raised more than £153,000 for the charity, with funds still coming in.
Richard suffered life-changing injuries in a road accident in 2013 and has battled his way back to fitness in order to make the climb.
