A MEMORIAL service is to be held to celebrate the life of Fordingbridge choirmaster, the late Roy Lillington.
A search has been launched to find any of his former choristers, who are being invited to come and sing at the service at St Mary’s Church on Saturday, April 11, at 2pm.
Roy was a choirmaster for St Mary’s Church Choir in Fordingbridge between 1963 and 1977 .
Even after he moved to Berkshire, Roy used to travel down to Fordingbridge every Friday evening for choir practice and returned on a Sunday evening after Evensong.
He was also a senior scout with the 1st Fordingbridge Scouts in the late 40s and early 50s.
