YOUNG footballers at a newly-created club in Verwood are full of cheer after receiving a brand new kit.

Rossgarth Under-8s have been handed a new strip courtesy of striking a sponsorship deal with Structural Metal Decks (SMD).

The design specialist firm has funded the new kit, which started its first full season in the New Forest League this month.

Club founder and technical director at SMD Jamie Turner said: “The kit was presented to us by SMD before a friendly match organised for this weekend.

“The delight from the boys in receiving and playing in their new kit was great to see and I felt this resulted in their best performance as a team so far, bringing truth to the saying if you look like a team, you play like a team!”

“Having the support of a local business, which I am lucky enough to work for, is key to the development of the youth football today and it was great to see the delight the new kit brought to the boys’ faces before, during and after the game.”

Rossgarth FC is a volunteer-run FA Charter Standard club that provides the opportunity for boys and girls of all abilities to enjoy football, from ages 5 to 18 years old.

It also has strong links with Wessex Premier league side Verwood Town.
