ALDERHOLT residents awoke to find an unexpected Easter treat waiting for them on Sunday.

A mystery Easter bunny was busy making deliveries around the village - leaving Easter eggs on doorsteps.

Reverend Pip Martin said: "It has caused a lovely buzz around the village."

The village has a population of around 3,000 people, with delighted families and residents saying this is the first time it has happened.

Resident Lucy Hood said: "It was very strange. It was just a lovely gesture whoever did it."

However, she admits finding the Easter egg on the doorstep was a "bit of a shock" to begin with and that she had thought it was her neighbours.

"No-one has a clue who or what did it. I would love to know," added Lucy.
