A VITAL vehicle has been added to the Bransgore Community First Responders fleet has been named in tribute to community champion, the well-loved former chairman of Bransgore Parish Council and district councillor Ann Hickman who died last year.

The car named "Ann" was unveiled at the Bransgore Rotary Club's Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday by Ann's mother, Joan, 95.

Bransgore Community First Responder's co-ordinator Mike Jukes said: "Our new car was funded by members of our community who support the work we do for local people at a time of medical emergency. Ann Hickman was someone who loved Bransgore and Burley and served the community both as district and parish councillor as well as being a friend to anyone who needed help and assistance for whatever reason.

"Ann was a role model for so many and a true community champion. She was also a local Rotarian. Bransgore Rotary Club do fantastic work for local charities and those in need around the world. Our volunteers agreed that naming the car Ann in her memory, was our small way of showing our recognition of what she did for so many in our community. We hope that we can carry on the community work she did using this car to help those at a time when they need it. Ann Hickman is greatly missed."
