A BRANSGORE woman will be “moonwalking” to help in the battle against breast cancer.
Susan Simmonds takes on the London MoonWalk on May 16 to raise funds for She will be taking on the challenge with Denise Freemantle, which will see the pair walk 26.2 miles overnight through London.
“Moonwalking” for the third time - having previously taken part in 2011 and 2012 - Susan and Denise will be joining over 17,000 women and men who will be walking in their decorated bras.
In previous years the walkers have been accompanied by celebrities and personalities including Jennifer Saunders, Linda Nolan and Kristin Scott-Thomas.
The MoonWalk London is organised by health charity Walk the Walk Worldwide.
Funds raised benefit charities including Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the Breast Cancer Institute and Penny Brohn Cancer Care.
According to figures one in eight women in the UK are expected to experience some form of breast cancer.
Susan and Denise aim to complete the walk in around the 6hrs 30mintues and said: “We’ve done it before – so we know it’s a very tough challenge, but we also know that when we cross that finish line we will have made a very real difference to the vital work of the breast cancer charities”
