A RINGWOOD teenager has secured a place in the semi-final of Miss Teen Great Britain and hopes to fulfil her dream of bringing the crown back to Hampshire.

Alice Cutler is currently studying her A Levels and works part-time as a lifeguard.

She beat competitors from across the country to make it through to the semi-final stages of the competition.

The 18-year-old told the Journal: “Being chosen as a semi-finalist for this competition is such an honour.

“I have always loved taking part in events where I can raise money for charity and help develop awareness of great causes, and this is the perfect opportunity.

“I am so excited to have made it to the semi-finals, as the selection process was really tough.

“This is such a great achievement for me.”

In order to win her place Alice had to take part in an interview and was judged on her previous charity work and experience from when she took part in Miss Hampshire.

She added: “As part of the semi finals I am taking part in a five-mile sponsored swim, 320 lengths, to raise money for Together For Short Lives, a children’s hospice charity.

“Also, I have another interview and have to get as many likes as I can on a Facebook photo page.”

Alice will also be organising other charity fundraisers such as a sweet sale and other events through the summer.

She hopes to make it to the grand final which will take place at The Globe in Blackpool in October.

Teenagers from across Great Britain will compete for the crown in the grand final and for the top prize of £1,000.

Alice added: “Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true.

“Fingers crossed I will be able to represent Ringwood and Hampshire, and to bring the Miss Teen Great Britain crown to the south.”

She needs as many Facebook “likes” as possible to help bolster her chances of getting through to the Miss Teen Great Britain grand final.
