MOYLES Court School pupils sang their hearts out in their production of the hit musical Annie.

The audience was temporarily transported to 1933 New York at the Barrington Theatre in Ferndown on Thursday and Friday — a matinee and evening performance was held on both days

Year 5 pupil Sophie Dixon took on the lead role of Annie while Seren Protheroe, who is in Year 7, played the villainous Miss Hannigan.

Headteacher Richard Milner-Smith, said: “The quality of the production was simply outstanding. We had over 50 pupils performing in the show, ranging from Year 2 to Year 9. Everyone who took part performed with great confidence and skill and they all applied themselves brilliantly. Personally, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to spend time working with our pupils during this production and equally our staff thoroughly enjoyed taking on cameo roles.”

The production was directed by the school's head of music Suzanne Dixon, who added: “This production will have created so many wonderful memories. I am so very proud of each and every cast member. The support and participation from the staff was superb. We are hugely grateful for all the family and friends of our pupils who came along to support and were wonderful audiences to perform to.”
