BYGONE Days has ended on a high note as organisers call time on the event which has just

celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The annual two-day event, which takes place at Brooklands Farm in South Gorley, attracted about 5,000 visitors.

“After 25 years this was the last Bygone Days,” said Organiser Elaine Micklewright said: “This has grown from a two-hour afternoon event to two very full days and gone from a few 100 people coming in to quite a large number."

The show is held on what was part of the Second World War airfield RAF Ibsley, using some of the original buildings.

The event raises money for Salisbury Hospice, the Alzheimer's Society and the Royal British Legion Women’s Section. It is not yet known how much this year’s event has raised.

Elaine, who organises the event with her cousin Campbell Sampson, says it seemed an appropriate time to bring it to an end after 25 years.

This year's event featured air displays from aircraft including the iconic Spitfire as well as a variety of vintage vehicles, stalls and exhibits and a novelty dog show.

Elaine added: “The show was brilliant. There were lots of displays. It was a brilliant weekend and we had lovely weather.”

She thanked everyone for their support and help with the event over the years.
