MOYLES Court School near Ringwood has seen a significant improvement in its GCSE results.

This year the school reported that 80 per cent of all the GCSE grades were C or above and 71 per cent of students who receive learning support achieved five or more grades at A*-C, with 100 per cent of the remaining pupils achieving five or more grades at A*-C.

Lucy Phillips was one of the highest performing students with 5 A*grades, 4 A’s and 1 B grade.

The school says overall, each student achieved just over one grade higher than they would be expected to achieve.

Headteacher Richard Milner-Smith, who is at the end of his first year in post, said he is thrilled with the improvements that have been made.

He added: “I am delighted for our Year 11 students who have worked so very hard to achieve these wonderful results. They have been brilliantly supported by all the staff at our school, who also deserve enormous credit. One of my key targets as the new head was to raise the academic profile of our school and we have got off to the best possible start.”

There has also been success for Year 9 pupils who passed their FCSE examinations in French and Spanish with 79 per cent of all pupils achieving the highest possible grade, whilst the Junior School had a 100 per pass rate for all those pupils who sat the 11+ examination for the nearby Grammar Schools.
