THERE were colourful creations galore at the Christmas Tree Festival in Burley.

The four day event, which ran until Sunday, December 11, was held by St John the Baptist Church.

The festival gives the local community the chance to decorate and fill the church with their own Christmas trees.

At this year’s event there were about 25 Christmas trees filling the church.

Organiser Pat Simpson said: “It was brilliant.

“We had over 900 people come to the festival.”

The festival was raising money for the Diocese of Kinkizzi in Uganda and local Macmillan nurses. The final total has yet to be finalised but is thought to be more than £1,000. Pat added: “I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped and made it possible.”
