AWARD-WINNING children's author Chris D'Lacey joined Ringwood School pupils as part of their World Book Week celebrations.
D’Lacey, who has written more than 20 children’s books and is best-known for his award-winning series The Last Dragon Chronicles, met with a group of Year 7 students in the Learning Resource Centre at the school, the hub of World Book Week, on March 3.
Mr D’Lacey chatted to the students about his life as an author and the inspiration behind his stories.
He also signed copies of The Last Dragon Chronicles and presented the students with their Literacy Champion certificates, which recognise students who are working hard to improve their reading and spelling.
Other World Book Week celebrations included a whole school reading of The Monkey’s Paw by W W Jacobs. This was read in segments at the beginning of the each of the six lessons on World Book Day.
The English department, inspired by JK Rowling's Harry Potter, turned their classrooms into Gryffindor’s Common Room.
