VISITORS of all ages enjoyed some out of this world fun in Fordingbridge at the weekend.

The Star Wars family day was held in the town hall on Saturday and was raising funds for the Firefighters Charity.

The event, which was organised by Dave Tree of All The Cool Stuff, was attended by special guest actors Jerome StJohn Blake and Richard Stride who starred in the Star Wars prequel trilogy as well as artist Malcolm Tween.

Artist Malcolm Tween who was commissioned to create twelve official Royal Mail Star Wars postage stamps to co-incide with the release of Star Wars The Force Awakens.

Members of Star Wars costuming groups The Rebel Legion UK and The UK Garrison entertained crowds along with the Fordingbridge Gaming Club demonstrating Star Wars table top board games.

Dave Tree, of All The Cool Stuff said: "We managed to raise £256 for the Firefighters Charity, which we could not have done without the help of other Fordingbridge-based businesses including Riverside Kiosk, The Fig Tree, Jessica, Jacksons Solicitors and Fordingbridge Town Council."

And the fun continued into Sunday with the Farthest From fair featuring a range of toys and memorabilia.

Dave said: "The event draws many visitors for all over the UK to Fordingbridge on regular basis. Sunday saw fans from as far as Lossiemouth in Scotland, Belfast, Newcastle and even a couple from North Carolina in the USA. This all adds am additional welcome boost to services and retailers in Fordingbridge, who then benefit from these type of events."

The next Star Wars event will be held in Fordingbridge on December 9 and 10.
