BURGATE School student George Timm picked up second prize in the regional final of ARTiculation Prize England.
ARTiculation is a public speaking competition allowing students to express their opinions, thoughts and reactions to the visual world.
The Year 13 student’s presentation was inspired by the work of Lorna Cosba.
A spokesman for the school said: “A huge amount of time and dedication has gone into George’s presentation and he delivered it with pride, confidence and humour. The audience were captivated. His presentation, inspired by the work of Lorna Cosba was insightful and personal.”
The final was held at The New Arts Centre, Roche Court, in East Winterslow and adjudicated by Emma Goltz, trustee of the Contemporary Art Society who was impressed by George’s commitment to research and his dedication to his studies.
