A LUNCHEON Club in Godshill has celebrated its 25th anniversary.
The 93 Club, which was founded in 1993, is a non-profit-making gentlemen’s luncheon club which meets on the third Thursday of the month for a talk followed by a lunch.
The club’s anniversary was celebrated at its meeting on March 15 which was attended by the Mayor of Fordingbridge, Cllr Malcolm Connolly,
Foster Herd, one of the founding members, gave a talk on how the club was started and four new members were introduced to the group before the speaker of the day, Reverend Pip Martin, gave a talk on the joys and benefits of being a rural curate and vicar.
The cutting of the cake took place immediately afterwards - complete with ceremonial sword.
Chairman Derek Ayling thanked the committee, Foster Herd, Alan Dudley and his team, for planning the anniversary celebrations and then proposed a toast to the next 25 years.
