Surgery to offer same day service

FORDINGBRIDGE surgery will be operating a ‘same day service’ from Tuesday.
The surgery is improving its appointments and consultation system to try to offer a speedier response and reduce waiting times for routine appointments.
For patients needing help that day the surgery will be providing a telephone call-back service from a nurse practitioner or doctor after the patient calls and speaks to a receptionist.
This will give patients the chance to discuss their problem and then an investigation or appointment can be arranged.
Dr Joanna Dingley, the lead GP responsible for implementing the scheme, said: “This system will be a significant improvement for patients.
“We are determined to reduce delays for routine appointments and provide high quality care for those with urgent same day problems.
“This will provide quick response telephone support and the opportunity for rapid assessment and treatment.”
