WET weather might have made growing difficult for gardeners this year, but members of Ibsley and District Horticultural Society still put on a blooming good show for their silver anniversary on Saturday.

With additional funding for new rosettes and scores of flower arrangements and plants, Ibsley Village Hall was bursting with colour and fragrance.

Chairman Alleyn Wilson said: “The hall was full of people who came to see us.

“We had more entries this year than we have had for a good number of years and considering all the bad gardening weather we have had over the last few months, the standard and quality was superb, which was especially pleasing as we were |celebrating 25 years.

“We are always looking for new members and we are a very sociable group, with trips planned over the year.”

The group, which formed in 1987, meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7.30pm at the village hall.
