Policing arrangements

How the new neighbourhood policing set-up will work

The Salisbury City Centre team manager is PC Tim Bunt. He has two PCSOs supporting him: Jenny Moss and Emma Fisher. A replacement for PCSO Tracey Holloway is being recruited. The city centre also has a direct supervisor, Sergeant Richard Goodman.

The other five teams in the City area are supervised by Sgt Stacy Davis, and the teams in the South Rural area by Sgt Kerry Lawes.

Bemerton Heath will still be managed by PC Darren Foulger. He will be supported by two new PCSOs starting in May. In the meantime PCSOs Kim Weston and Simon Ward will help him, as well as carrying out their other duties.

The Friary and Southampton Road team will have a new manager, PC Mike Parrott, supported by PCSO Lorraine Rice.

The St Paul's and Churchfields team will also have a new man at the helm. PC John Jones will be supported by PCSO Jo Atkinson, with a second support officer to be appointed as soon as possible.

In Harnham there will be no change. Community Beat Manager PC Steve McDonald will continue, with the help of PCSO Simon Ward.

The Laverstock and Bishopdown Neighbourhood Police Team will in effect no longer exist.

The parish of Laverstock, which includes Old Sarum, will come under a new Alderbury and Laverstock team, managed by PC Henry Clissold, who is currently Alderbury team manager. The current Laverstock and Bishopdown PCSO, Kim Weston, will be part of the team, as will Alderbury's PCSO Will Parr.

Bishopdown will be amalgamated into the Castle Road team. PC Becks Lennane, the current community beat manager for Laverstock and Bishopdown, is returning to patrol duties. The new community beat manager for the Castle Road neighbourhood team will be PC Richard Pearce. He will be supported by PCSO Vanessa Oakley.

There will be no change at Downton, with PC Matt Holland as CBM, supported by PCSO Mark Brand.

At Wilton, manager PC Colin Rothwell will be supported by new PCSO Lydia Waterman.

Wylye will probably see the most upheaval.

Of the 11 parishes within the current Wylye NPT, six will now come under the Amesbury Rural neighbourhood team. These are Berwick St James, Great Wishford, Stapleford, Steeple Langford, Winterbourne Stoke and Wylye.

The Sector Commander for Amesbury, Martyn Sweett, is responsible for the team. But because of the extra demands that will be made on the sector, Wylye's Community Beat Manager, PC John Wyeth, and PCSO Will Todd will in future come under the management of Amesbury Sector.

The remaining five parishes of Barford St Martin, Compton Chamberlayne, Dinton, South Newton and Teffont will be amalgamated with the Chalke Valley team, and renamed Wilton Rural NPT. PC Pete Jung will remain as the manager, supported by PCSO Sam Spacey. The team will also cover Alvediston parish.
