ARE you a direct supplier to a UK major retailer? If so, are you aware of the Grocery Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP) and how it can help safeguard your business during negotiations?

The NFU is looking into the feasibility of offering a one-day training course for members on the code itself and the role of the Grocery Code Adjudicator.

For further information and to register your interest, email tom.lander@nfu.org.uk who will contact you in the near future. The closing date for registering an interest is June 30.

It is important to realise that registering your interest in attending the course is not confirmation that a course will be provided. The NFU needs to have a minimum of 20 interested parties before a course can be arranged.

Proposed objectives:

• To understand what the GSCOP is, why it was set up, and its key elements

• To know how the GSCOP affects you and your job role

• To instill confidence on how to use the GSCOP/the GCA, including in trade negotiation situations.

• To understand how trade associations can help

• To have the knowledge to better safeguard your business from unfair dealing
