Fun at Apple Day

Fun at Apple Day Fun at Apple Day

SALISBURY’S first Apple Day gave families plenty to get their teeth into.

There was apple juicing, apple bobbing, apple printing, apple monster making and plenty of apple eating at the fun filled event.

Visitors could also make labels for the trees at Fisherton and Bishopdown orchards, create a ladybird house for their garden and get advice on planting fruit trees from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

Parks assistant Polly Mason, from Salisbury City Council, which organised the event, said: “Apple Day was started in 1990 by an organisation called Common Ground known for their interest in, and support of, traditional orchards. We are really excited about celebrating our new community orchards. The Apple Day event was free with lovely activities for all ages to take part in.”
