STUDENTS at Avon Valley College got glammed up to celebrate their achievements at the school’s annual Oscars event.
The hall and grounds were transformed, and the students were presented with their awards by Olympic gold medallist Captain Heather Stanning.
They also had former student Claire Sturgess, who is a successful radio broadcaster, TV presenter and voiceover artist, as the MC for the night.
This year’s winners were: Adam Flint – PE, Maddie Crompton – maths, Georgia Naylor – English, Maddi Jones – science, Kieran Smith – technology and pupil progress for Key Stage 4, Ryan Kilburn – history, Stacey Hone – geography and ICT, Lauren Clark – PSHE/ethics, Shannon Bannister – travel & tourism/work skills, Jack Parratt – languages, Charlotte McGran – vocational, Jess McSherry – art, Rita Wright – dance, Mollie Gill – drama, Claire Johnston – performing arts, Jessica Frewin-Smith – music, Natasha George – top attainment Key Stage 4, Josh White – top attainment Key Stage 5, Tom Clark – pupil progress Key Stage 5, Olympic Bake Off Team Ryan Rogers, Callum Hunt and Brandon Paylor – best team, Loran Evans, Lucy Crossland and Kirsty Jackson – community award, and Louise Bickerstaff – Brookes award.
Special awards went to Jeremy Browning, Roger Whittington and Debbie Corbett for their support to the college.
