PEOPLE in Salisbury are being encouraged to lighten their stockings from the festive season and trade their excess chocolates for a workout in the fresh air.

Angela Ross, owner of Physique Boot Camp, is leading a campaign to encourage people to donate any unwanted or excess sweets, chocolates or other edible goodies to local charity Lucy’s Days Out.

Ms Ross said: “The idea is that people shouldn’t want to eat sweets and chocolates for the sake of it. Everybody has an excess of treats at Christmas and it can be so unhealthy to eat large amounts of these foods.

“The chocolate amnesty helps everyone. Lucy’s Days Out benefits by getting some unexpected gifts and the donors can get healthier as a result.”

The charity boot camp will take place on January 12 at 9am and is open to anyone over the age of 16 who donates their unwanted treats to the charity.
