Man admits wounding with intent

A SALISBURY man facing trial for attempted murder following an incident in Mere last year has pleaded guilty to wounding with intent.

Richard Fletcher, 47, of Dolphin Street, was charged with attempted murder after attacking a 22-year-old man with a knife at an address in Hillside Close on January 25.

But at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday the attempted murder charge was dropped as the prosecution accepted Fletcher’s guilty plea to wounding with intent. He will be sentenced on February 19.
