Child sex offender found with more images while on rehab programme
2:21pm Monday 14th January 2013 in News By Journal Reporter
A CHILD sex offender who was a year into a rehabilitation programme was found with more indecent images of youngsters.
Robert Bruce Turnbull, of Chain Hill, Stapleford, was given a three-year community order with a sex offenders rehabilitation programme when he was convicted of having 151 indecent images of children in March 2011.
His computer was monitored as part of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) and when police checked it in January last year they found 18 new images.
The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images, one of possession of 18 images of children and one of possessing two extreme pornographic images.
At Salisbury Crown Court on Monday Judge Douglas Field said the fact Turnbull had reoffended in the course of the rehabilitation programme was “very serious” and he still had a “deep-seated problem” with his addiction to access pornography.
He sentenced Turnbull to five months in prison suspended for two years, with supervision for two years and seven years on the sex offenders register.
Judge Field said: “You have another chance, if you have another fall from grace you understand what will happen.”
