LAST minute class cancellations and cold swimming pools have been the source of much complaint among members at Five Rivers Leisure Centre in Salisbury.

Taking to Facebook to air their dismay, members say complaints have been made to staff over the last five months but instead of things getting better, they’re getting worse. One called the service “a shambles” while another lamented the fact they were paying full membership but receiving only half the service.

Leisure centre member Ellie Petty said: “It is meant to be a community facility open to all and should be providing an adequate service, but class instructors aren’t turning up, the pools are cold and there seems a lot of dismay about the running of the centre. Staff at the centre have apologised to customers on Facebook, saying it had “some class cover issues” which “should now be resolved”.

A Wiltshire Council spokesman said: “We are always striving to provide the best possible service to our customers, and we are disappointed we have fallen below those standards recently. We are working hard to resolve the issues raised, and we’d like to thank people for the feedback about our classes and services.”

She added that the temperature of the swimming pools was checked regularly, and was within the recommended range.
