Check-it-Out at Sarum Academy
STUDENTS at Sarum Academy have been trying out a range of activities and events designed to engage them with core Christian values this week.
In the first Check-it-Out event to be held at the Salisbury school, in partnership with Christian charity The Bridge, pupils have been taking part in a range of sessions, from an inter-school five-aside football organised by sixth form students and a bake-off, to enrichment lessons with Essex-based band Taste, which is touring with the ministries charity Viz-a-Viz.
Deputy principal Tricia Friskney-Adams said: “The Academy has a strong partnership with The Bridge and is delighted to host this exciting range of activities.
“Our pupils appreciate the fact that there is always someone they can turn to for help and this week will only enhance that provision.”
A sanctuary has been created where pupils, staff and members of The Bridge, local clergy and community are able to meet and discuss faith and how it affects young people today.
