Give your views on council at roadshows
8:48am Saturday 19th January 2013 in News By Corey Ross
PEOPLE in Salisbury are being invited to help shape the council’s budget for the upcoming financial year at an interactive roadshow.
The roadshows are being held across Wiltshire in the next few weeks and everyone who attends will be asked where they would make savings and where they would invest if they had control of the council’s budget.
Council leader Jane Scott said: “We want as many people as possible to visit the roadshows and tell us what they think. We need to find out what our tax payers want us to prioritise in the future.
“The roadshows, which all take place on market days, are an example of how we work with local people to make sure that we allocate council funding and resources to reflect their views and feedback.”
People who attend will also be asked their views on what the council has done well and where it could do better following its first four years as a unitary authority.
The Salisbury roadshow will be held on Tuesday, January 22 from 11am to 1pm outside the Guildhall, and a roadshow in Amesbury will be on January 30 in Salisbury Street, next to Nationwide and Martins. Cabinet members and council staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
