PEOPLE willing to brave the elements for a good cause are being asked to sign up to this year’s Sleep Out event for homelessness charity Alabaré.

Last year some 120 people dug out their sleeping bags, raised sponsorship and spent the night sleeping in the Cloisters of Salisbury Cathedral to help raise funds for the charity.

Taking part this year will be MP John Glen and the Bishop of Ramsbury Edward Condry, along with a number of youngsters from local schools and church youth groups.

The money raised will go towards supporting the work of Alabaré’s drop-in centres in Salisbury and Trowbridge, which offer a safe and welcoming place to those who have nowhere else to go.

The centres offer hot food and drinks, washing facilities and advice on a range of subjects including health, housing and benefits.

To join the Sleep Out, on Friday, March 1, or for more information call Heather Hitchins on 01722 322882.
