Top marks for day surgery

DAY surgery patients at Salisbury District Hospital have rated staff and the quality of services highly, with respect and dignity, confidence in staff and overall patient satisfaction key findings in a recent survey.

Patients who used the service were asked their views on facilities, waiting times, the quality of care and the way they were treated.

And 99 per cent of those who responded said they had confidence and trust in the doctors and nurses, that they were treated with respect and dignity and that toilets and clinical areas were clean.

They also said they would recommend the hospital to friends and family.

Chief executive Peter Hill said: “The results for our Day Surgery Unit are excellent and highlight the outstanding contribution our staff make to patients’ experiences in this part of the hospital.

“These findings come hot on the heels of the excellent feedback we received from the national patient survey regarding our A&E department, where our patients rated us as one of the best in the country.”
